We are committed to sustainability!

From now on, it is possible to register for the DressagePower Junior Trophy and the DressagePower Sweden Trophy. Much remains the same from last year, but in this year’s edition, DressagePower is investing even more in financial sustainability, environmental sustainability, and sustainability for the horses.

– The horses shouldn’t have to be driven all over the country to qualify. Instead, you can qualify at a competition at your home club or while competing in a Grand Prix Qualifier. This year, only one qualification from two-star competitions and above is required, says Peter Härnstam, one of the founders of DressagePower.

Another new feature is that the registration fee has been significantly reduced. Now it costs 1000 kronor to register for the Junior Trophy and Sweden Trophy respectively.

– We want to take our responsibility for sustainability as a competition organizer. Previously, those who signed up with us received such high-end products. But it doesn’t feel sustainable from an environmental perspective to send jackets and blankets that the riders haven’t actually ordered. In today’s economic climate, we think it’s better to instead lower the fees, says Peter Härnstam.

From October 26 to 29, the semi-finals and finals will take place at the DressagePower Horse Show and the venue is Smedstad Equestrian Center in Linköping.

– I am so happy that we are continuing the Junior Trophy for another year. Seeing the country’s best juniors compete during our final weekend really gives me hope for the future of Swedish dressage. Young horses that offer great riding, among them are our next big star riders in the World and Olympic teams, says Kristian von Krusenstierna from DressagePower.

Last year's winners in the Junior Trophy were Laura Laustsen and Fairy Tail, and the Sweden Trophy was won by Angelica Byström with the horse Vejledals Bella Donna.

– I think this competition shows the high level we have in Msv B in Sweden, and it also brings together teams from all corners of the country, and everyone gets to ride the kür in the final. It’s a real highlight. The feeling when this competition takes place is something extra special; there’s so much nerves and expectations that you feel throughout the entire final weekend, it’s absolutely wonderful, says Kristian von Krusenstierna.

New partner for the Horse Show, Junior Trophy and Sweden Trophy is Agria Animal Insurance.

– DressagePower is an important force for developing dressage in Sweden. The new competition format with a broader target group that permeates sustainability at multiple levels is the right way to go, says Mikael Theorén, business area manager for horses and agriculture at Agria Djurförsäkring.

The DressagePower Horse Show will, as in previous years, be framed by a show and a mingle.

– It will be two gala evenings, one evening will be a clinic and a show, and the other evening, when there are semifinals, you can either order a table and have dinner, or watch the competitions from a regular seat in the stands. We have received very positive feedback from the riders, who appreciate the atmosphere during the final weekend with both the show and the opportunity to socialize, says Peter Härnstam.

Facts about the DressagePower Junior Trophy and the Sweden Trophy:

The riders qualify for the competition around the country on existing competitions from two-star level. One qualification is enough; if the rider is not satisfied with the result, they have to ride more qualifications. The 20 best teams in the DressagePower Junior Trophy get to ride the semifinals, and then the 8 best go on to the final day. In the DressagePower Sweden Trophy presented by Agria, the top 30 get to ride the semifinals, and from there the 8 best go on to the final day. All finals are done in the dressage. The DressagePower Horse Show takes place from October 26 to 29 at Smedstad Equestrian Center in Linköping.
