DressagePower launches the new competition Sweden Trophy
Now DressagePower is launching the Sweden Trophy competition. The competition is open to all riders who ride at Msv B level.
– We have decided to change our Senior Trophy competition so that everyone, regardless of age, can participate. We believe that it will become our biggest competition, because there are so many riders competing at that level, says Peter Härnstam, one of the founders of DressagePower.
Another new feature for all DressagePowers competitions is that there will be semifinals. For the Sweden Trophy there will be 30 places in the semifinals, in the Future Stars and Junior Trophy 20 there will be 20 semifinal places.
– The semifinals are going to be very exciting because there are only eight riders who make it to the finals, where there are huge prize money and super-nice honorary prizes. When nerves come into play, it becomes an extra challenge, says Peter Härnstam.
Only one qualifying round is required to reach the semifinals. Today, January 21st, is the first day of qualifying for the Sweden Trophy, Future Stars and Junior Trophy. Read more about the rules and qualifying rounds at www.dressagepower.se.

One of the riders in Future Stars is Angelica Byström. She won the 2021 edition with Brissago.
– The competition is super organized; there’s nothing to complain about. My horse doesn’t have a lot of experience; I’ve been saving him and letting him mature. Then DressagePower was very good as a goal at the end of the season. It was the first time he slept away in a tent stall and went in larger arenas, says Angelica Byström.
The goal is for Brissago to compete in the Grand Prix next year.
– I have a seven-year-old at the stables at home, and we’ll see if he’s ready for Future Stars this year. But it definitely won’t be the last time I’m in Future Stars; it’s a great incentive and great prize money. It’s a milestone in my training, and none of these horses will stay at this level; they’ll go on to do well in life, says Angelica Byström.

Rider Blanca Bosson took second place in the 2021 Junior Trophy. This year she will become a Young Rider and will ride the Young Rider Trophy with DressagePower.
– It will be a slightly higher level; this year will be a chance to try it out. But I have already competed in the Swedish Championships as a Young Rider, where I came in eighth place, so it might go well, says Blanca Bosson.
She really liked the walk with her horse Cardon M to the music of The Weekend, but now the focus is on a new walk.
– I’m thinking about the music; I’d like to find something new even though it’ll be hard to top The Weekend. It’s really fun with DressagePower, getting to ride the kür in the final. Otherwise, the kür in the final at the Swedish Championships – but that’s not very often, says Clara Bosson.
The future plans are to finish high school this spring and then dedicate at least a year to riding full-time.
– I want to take a break from studying and it feels very exciting to be able to keep working with horses for a while, to be able to train and compete more and to spend more time on our young horses.
