Sverker Albrektson: The guiding principles that will help you develop
An entrepreneur with a heart for horses
Sverker Albrektson is a well-known name in the Swedish business world. As one of the founders of Albrekts Guld and Hallbergs Guld, he has run successful companies for several decades – always with the same curious passion for development. His motto is clear: ”Do you want your life to be exciting, get involved in different things – and be curious.”
This year, Sverker, together with his wife Lena, chooses to get involved in the DressagePower Horse Show. We met him to talk about motivation, lessons learned, and of course – his favorite animal, the horse.
Horses – a lifelong passion
For Sverker, horses are more than just animals. ”It’s something unique; horses are my favorite animal,” He says. Over the years, he himself has ridden and been involved in several horse projects. Among other things, he has supported the building of the riding school at Skaftö Riding Club, so that more people will have the opportunity to ride all year round. He has also donated the horse ”Juvel” to Beridna Högvakten.
The passion for horses is shared in the family. Together with his wife Lena and granddaughter Nora, he visits the Gothenburg Horse Show every year. ”Horses create a fantastic community. It’s fun to be part of it – regardless of age or whether you’re an active rider yourself,” says Sverker.
Therefore, the Albrektson family supports DressagePower
Becoming a partner of the DressagePower Horse Show was a natural step for Sverker and Lena. Their ambition is clear: to ensure that the event not only survives, but grows and develops into something even greater. ”We want to work together to create an inspiring experience for both riders and spectators,” he says.

Sverker's good advice
With extensive experience as both an entrepreneur, leader, and mentor, Sverker has accumulated advice he is happy to share. Here are his six guiding principles for personal development – in his career, sport, and life:
- Engaged and curious – Take initiative, ask questions, and be open. You can learn something from everyone.
- Be proactive – not passive – Participate actively and dare to take a stand. Don’t sit in the corner; dare to step forward and take some space.
- Dare to change direction – Doesn’t that feel right? Change of course. Fear of change is often the biggest obstacle.
- Have fun! – Humor and joy are crucial in all situations.
- Dare to admit when it’s not fun – Not everything suits everyone. Have the courage to move on when necessary.
- Show appreciation for your team – Success is achieved together. Lift up and thank your team.
The development of DressagePower Horse Show
Sverker wants to see the DressagePower Horse Show continue to grow and develop—that it not only “survives”, but becomes even bigger. With a great commitment, he believes in creating an inspiring equestrian experience through the DressagePower Horse Show together. His advice to our riders well summarizes his philosophy: be curious, dare to change—and never forget to have fun along the way.
”It’s only when we dare to take risks that we can take the next step. And then it can get really exciting,” he concludes.
